Leicester City have made an enquiry for Everton midfielder James McCarthy. The 26-year-old is likely to leave Goodison Park this summer but Everton value him at £25million.
The Republic of Ireland international missed a chunk of the last campaign with a niggly hamstring injury after failing to give it proper rest but is fit again after taking time to recover fully and missing Ireland’s end of season internationals.
Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare has already signed Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra but may yet lose a few more bodies as he streamlines his squad, including Nampalys Mendy.

Everton’s asking price for McCarthy has deterred some bidders so far as other suitors such as Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace weigh up what their priorities are.
Everton should be strong on midfield numbers though they will also sell Ross Barkley should anyone match their valuation.
Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace are also monitoring the player
They remain intent on signing Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City and have Muhamed Besic fit again after a knee ligament injury.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, are among clubs showing interest in Everton centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori.
