Spaniards have been quick to highlight the amazing likeness between newly-engaged Meghan and MP Begona Villacis.
One fan of the mother-of-two, who has put herself in the running to become the next mayoress of Madrid, tweeted after it emerged Harry and Meghan were going to marry: ‘I’m really shocked about Prince Harry marrying Begona Villacis.’

Others have branded Harry’s bride-to-be and Rolling Stones fan Begona, the current leader of centre-right party Ciudadanos in Madrid, ‘identical twins separated at birth.’
The similarity between the two women doesn’t end in the looks department.
Meghan plays paralegal Rachel Zane in American legal drama Suits and Begona, who turned 40 at the start of the month, started out as a lawyer after graduating in tax law from a private university in Madrid.

Begona has managed to see the funny side of the comparison even joking to her husband that they needed ‘to talk’ after the engagement photos were released
Their accents might not be too different either because Californian-born Meghan’s lookalike, now jokingly being dubbed BegonaVillaSuits in a new hashtag, spent three years living in Virginia.
Mrs Villacis, who lives in Villanueva del Pardillo 16 miles north-west of Madrid’s city centre, admitted on Wednesday: ‘I’ve had a lot of fun with this.’
Revealing her schoolgirl daughters greeted news of the royal engagement with a shocked look on their faces as they watched the lunchtime TV news together, she joked to an online Spanish news website: ‘When my husband got home he said, “Darling, we have to talk” and I showed him the photo with Harry. He couldn’t stop laughing.’

The Spanish politician also showed she saw the funny side of things by tweeting, in a reference to her dreams of becoming Madrid’s next mayoress and moving to Cibeles Palace which houses the City Council offices: ‘Between Buckingham Palace and Cibeles….I’m sorry but I’m sticking with Madrid.’

One support group called Begona Alcadesa – Begona for Mayoress in English – tweeted alongside up-to-date photos of the two women: ‘The future mayoress of Madrid is a trendsetter.’
A Suits fan commented: ‘Please someone let the producers of Suits know they don’t need to ditch Rachel Zane. We can substitute Meghan Markle for Begona Villacis.’
